The complete vehicle was built on a 12ft wheel base chassis. It was designed to offer fire departments a variety of accessories which could be supplied and fitted to requirement. The body is of the limousine type which provides transverse seating giving greater protection for the crew of 11 behind the driver. The pump, pump drive and rear axle are arranged for easy access. The top of the body is covered with linrubber providing a durable handwearing surface. Protection for the outside panels is provided by inside steel panelling. The windscreen made of special safety glass was fitted standard.
The Leyland Cub FK7 was used in many different fire services around the world and is notedfor its capability of pumping 700 gallons of water per minute. Its 6 cylinder 4.7 litre engine provided 85 bhp and operated to give a smooth and efficient performance from 200 to 3000 rpm. This special edition model is reproduced with the 50 ft extendable wheeled escape ladder.
